Veritable hours to go….

rocking the new headbands!

My sister and brother-in-law got in this evening…..we are in the home stretch of packing, checking our gels and drinks, trying on new headbands, and trying to not think too hard about just how far 13.1 and 26.2 miles are.

Our kids have been bouncing off the wall all day. First in anticipation of Aunt Stacia and Uncle Rob coming. And then bouncing off of said Aunt Stacia and Uncle Rob with unbridled joy.

Currently Steve and Rob are comparing Garmin uploads, Stacia is ironing (I know – right?), and I’m fretting about packing. The energy is high but thankfully the kids are asleep.

Today has brought much support and smiles from friends far away.  First I got a package in the mail from one of my best friends from college.  I had tried to tempt Vicki to come run with me this weekend – but logistics across miles and with kiddos is not easy. But her love and support were clear.  How awesome to get that glass you see below!  THANKS Vicki!!! Can’t wait to raise a toast!

cheers!

After that unexpected surprise – I got an email from a dear friend of mine from grad school. She’s “old school” in that she’s not on Facebook…so she cranked out an old style email of just wonderful support. Thanks Sharon….it meant so much to me.

It’s pretty remarkable to think how much I’ve included my friends and family in this whole journey….and intend to include them even more in future runs – believe me!  Thank you all – for reading my Facebook posts, for reading my blog, and for supporting me in ways I can never fully repay. I am truly blessed by each of you – and you know who you are.

Okay – enough mushy stuff…got stuff to pack!

Edited to note: Stacia pointed out that her clothes were wrinkled from traveling. I pointed out that we’ll be RUNNING. And she said “not tomorrow”.  Sisters…..sigh.

all you need to run is sneakers....right?
